Thank you for all who have and are in support of Veterans' Mentor Group and our mission. We held a very nice Veteran Appreciation Dinner November 11th at Riverview Gardens Stone Cellar and held our 2016 Bike Raffle drawing at 6p. We are pleased to announce our winners.
Our Grand Prize winner of the 2016 Indian Scout with custom WWII paint is Jamie R. of New London, WI
2nd place winner of $1,000.00 is Clive G. of Sheboygan, WI
3rd place winner of $500.00 is Laurie B. (mom) of Black Creek, WI

DAV Chapter 17 to host “Operation: Cabin Fever” event

The Ray H. Fuller Disabled American Veterans (DAV), Chapter 17 of Winnebago County will be hosting its Second Annual community wide event entitled “Operation: Cabin Fever 2- Spring Thaw” that will be held at the Elks Lodge, 175 West Fernau Avenue in Oshkosh on Saturday
April 22nd, 2017. The goal is to raise funds that would go toward the DAV Transportation program allowing our veterans to attend medical appointments plus support the Chapter missions.

According to DAV Chapter 17, Commander Fred Hamel, “The mission of the DAV Chapter is to fulfill our country’s promises to the men and women who have served. DAV Chapter 17 has always been there to be of service to our local veterans.”

The evening program includes:
5:30p-6:30p      Social Hour
Jeff Alexander, WBAY TV News personality will be the Master of Ceremonies.
6:30p-7:30p      Colonel (ret.) Stephen Leopold United States Army (Special Forces) will be the featured guest speaker. Colonel Leopold was a Prisoner of War during the Vietnam War and is a recipient of the Silver Star Medal.
8:00p-10:00p    The Funk band “FBI and the Untouchable Horns” will play live

Tickets are $15 at the door, and if a donation of a new personal care item is given, a raffle ticket will be given out.
There will be snacks, Hors d’oeuvres, cash bar, silent auction and 50-50 raffle.
This event is open to the public- advance tickets purchase are encouraged, seating is limited.
